P & L Stables has been under the operation and direction of Pam Stolsworth since 2007. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in basic horsemanship with a focus on children and adults in the hunter/jumper field. Together with her sister Liz, they provide an excellent opportunity for children and adults alike to begin or to continue their training.
Pam's impressive career spans over forty years as Instructor/Manager/Trainer of some of the most prestigious stables in the Northeast. After moving to Florida, Pam's career turned to teaching in the Flagler County School District with a concentration on Special Education and early childhood intervention. Pam's gift with children is apparent when you watch her teach. Her combination of patience and technical expertise has helped a number of her former students excel in the horse world, many of whom have gone on to impressive careers.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.... Her daughter Meredith is an accomplished rider and trainer in her own right, with a successful equine business in New York. Pam's son Chris is a farrier in Texas specializing in corrective shoeing. Pam's sister, Liz O'Grady, also brings with her an impressive background in teaching and training. She prepares both students and horses for showing on the local and state level. She has had students qualify for state and national finals!
Both Pam and Liz have successfully coached at the college level and enjoyed careers as junior, amateur and professional riders. Both have won prestigious awards in their careers which influence their students' aspirations.
